Our story
The cloud our region needed did not exist yet. So we built it.
Gewape Cloud Group is a group of cloud companies for organisations in Africa, Asia Pacific, and the Americas that want to keep control of their data. This is how we came to be, and what we hold to.
How it started
It began inside Gewape Technologies, with a question we kept hearing from organisations across the region: where does our data actually live, and who answers for it?
For most of them, the honest answer was uncomfortable. Their data sat in places they could not point to, governed by terms written somewhere else, run by companies they had no way to reach. The word "sovereign" was on the brochure. It rarely survived contact with a regulator.
We watched one organisation lose months of compliance work when its "local" provider was acquired and the new owner quietly changed its residency terms. We watched another get turned away by a regulator that would not accept a certificate issued on another continent. These were not edge cases. They were the pattern.
So we did the slow thing first. Before a single brand launched, we incorporated locally in the markets we meant to serve. We built on open foundations we did not have to explain away. And we treated governance as the starting point, not a feature added once the marketing was written.
What grew out of that is not one company trying to be everything. It is a platform, brought to market by three companies, each built for a different kind of customer, all standing on the same ground.

What we hold to
Build in the open
Our foundations are open-source by choice. If a customer ever wants to leave, they can take their workloads with them. We would rather earn the next year than lock in the last one.
Earn trust in person
A contract does not make a regulator comfortable or a CTO confident. Presence does. We grow by being reachable in the markets we serve, and by being there the year after the deal closes.
Where we are now
Today the group runs live regions across Africa, Asia Pacific, and the Americas, with more markets coming online. The group sets the standards for security, service, and regulatory discipline. Each brand adapts delivery to local conditions while working inside them. When a standard applies across the portfolio, it applies everywhere.
We are still early in the story, and that is the point. The further we go, the more the work is judged by the same measure we started with: can you see where your data lives, and is someone you can reach accountable for it.
